Rudali

The second edition comprised of six plays performed by theatre stalwarts from Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata. The first play was Kashinama. It is based on the story “Pande Kaun Kumati Tohe Lagi” by Kashinath Singh. Usha Ganguli is the writer and director of the play. It was performed by artists from Rangkarmee, Kolkata. Rudali was the second play of the festival. It is based on a story by Mahashweta Devi. Usha Ganguli is the writer and director of the play.
Cotton 56 Polyster 84, written by Ramu Ramnathan and directed by Sunil Shanbag was the third play of the festival. It was performed by Aparna Theatre Group, Mumbai.
The fourth play was Acharya Tartuf. It is based on the French story “Tartuffe”. The play is written and directed by Prasanna. It was performed by NSD Repertory Company, New Delhi.
Letter to a Child Never Born was the fifth play of the festival. It is based on stories by Ismat Chughtai, Manto & Dostoevsky. It is written by Oriana Fallaci and directed by NSD alumnus Arshi Hassan. The play was performed by Arshi Hassan.
The sixth and the last play of the festival was Bhavadajukkam. It is written by Bodhayan and directed by Vijay Shrivastava.
