Veteran author Mridula Garg reading an excerpt from her latest book “Ve Nayaab Aurtein”. Actors Diksha Tiwari and Lav Tomar also read an excerpt each from the book.
Followed by Padatik Theatre’s play titled

Kaagaz Ke Gubbare

Directed by Anubha Fatehpuria, the play was based on a selection of Ismat chughtai’s writings/essays and short stories.

Started with a play titled

Awakenings

by the host team Rang Vinayak Rangmandal. Produced by Dr. Brijeshwar Singh and directed by Shubha Bhatt Bhasin, ‘Awakenings: The Sleeping Sickness Saga’ is an emotional account of a group of people who were frozen into decades-long sleep until Dr Sacks tried a new drug named L-DOPA.
The play was followed by an interactive session with the promising young poet Babusha Kohli.

In the evening, aRANYA staged two shows of

Jo Dooba So Paar

Writer Ajitesh Gupta co-directed the play with Mohit Agarwal. It throws light on the human that Ameer Khusro was, his relationship with his Guru Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliyaa and the advent of qawwali through them.

Started with a talk titled ‘How to watch theatre?’ by Dr. Amitesh Kumar. This event was held at The Windermere Residency in Bareilly.
Solo Play

Maas

Jyoti Dogra mesmerized the audience with her gripping solo performance in this play. We find ourselves at the deep end of the shallow business of beauty. And we drown in the not so shallow waters of shame, self-loathing, inadequacy and anger towards our own bodies, subjecting it all kinds of violence.

The first event of the evening was an interaction with Urdu shayar Ashu Mishra.
The Bareilly Boy also recited some of his ghazals. It was followed by ghazal singing by young artist Yusra Naqvi.
The last event of the Festival was the show of

Puraane Chawal

by D for Drama. Based on the English play ‘The Sunshine Boys’ by Neil Simon, “Puraane Chawal has been adapted to Hindi by Farrukh Seyer and Avinash Gautam. It has been directed by Sumeet Vyas. Veteran actors Kumud Mishra and Shubrajyoti Barat entertained the audience with their perfect comic timing and refined acting skills
