The first edition of the Windermere National Festival comprised of two plays from the National School of Drama Repertory Company, New Delhi. The first play was Ghasiram Kotwal – written by Vijay Tendulkar and directed by Rajinder Nath. The second play of the festival was Ram Nam Satya Hai. It is written by Chandra Shekhar Phansalkar and directed by Chetan Datar.
