“Paladin’ is a riveting adaptation of the American bestseller ‘When Breath Becomes Air’ written by a very spirited neurosurgeon Paul Kalanithi.
Conceptualized by Dr. Brijeshwar Singh, the play is directed by Ashwath Bhatt. The 80-minute long play tells us how working tirelessly for others gives true meaning to life. It also talks about why happiness is not the only goal in life and why it is important to face death with courage, dignity and loads of grace.
In its 14th edition, the Windermere Theatre Festival graduated to becoming the Windermere Theatre & Literature Festival as it showcased not only some of the best plays from across the country but it also included story reading sessions, interactions with authors, lectures, poetry recitals and ghazal singing.
The 13th edition of the Windermere Theatre Festival was held just before the pandemic gripped the entire world in its clutches. It featured six plays including the one titled ‘Miss Gulab Jaan’ by Dr. Brijeshwar Singh’s repertory Rang Vinayak Rang Mandal.
A total of eight plays were staged during the festival. It started with ‘Paladin’ – a play conceived by Dr. Brijeshwar Singh. It is an adaptation of Paul Kalanithi’s book titled ‘When Breath Becomes Air’. The play has been directed by Ashwath Bhatt. It was performed by the artists of Dr. Brijeshwar Singh’s repertory Rang Vinayak Rang Mandal, Bareilly.
This edition started with a fantastic performance titled ‘Kaghazi Hai Pairahan’ written by Ismat Chughtai. The beautiful artwork was performed by Dr. Brijeshwar Singh’s repertory Rang Vinayak Rang Mandal. The festival witnessed a total of seven plays.
