The play based on Oliver Sack’s book ‘Awakenings’ explores how human beings deal with situations they have never experienced before, and how they take the boldest decisions in the most difficult scenarios.
It is a remarkable account of a group of people who were frozen into decades-long sleep until Dr Sacks tried a new drug named L-DOPA. Although the drug did wake them up from the long sleep but soon after they experienced bouts of uncontrolled movements that made their lives difficult in an entirely unknown and unmanageable way.
