About Us:

Windermere Arts India (WAI) is aimed at producing and promoting theatre, filmmaking and other allied art forms in an ecosystem that’s based on equality and independence. The initiative under the aegis of Daya Drishti Charitable Trust is led by Dr Brijeshwar Singh – an awardee of the prestigious UPSNA Award for Theatre Promotion 2020.

Our repertory Rang Vinayak Rangmandal (RVRM) has produced more than 50 plays over a time span of 15+ years. These plays have been directed by theatre stalwarts such as Ranjeet Kapoor, Randhir Kumar, Hema Singh, Ashwath Bhatt, Pravin Shekhar.

Windermere has organized 13 national level theatre festivals by the name of Windermere Theatre Festival. The 14th edition of the festival is scheduled between 25 and 31 January, 2024. It will be held at our own Windermere Theatre – a 200-seater black box auditorium in Bareilly.

New Initiatives:

As part of its filmmaking initiative, WAI has produced “Windermere Ki Ramleela” – a documentary film that explores the journey of our theatre company while making a unique musical play based on the epic of Ramayana.

Two more documentary films are under production. One of them is based on an almost extinct form of pigeon racing called “Kabootarbaazi” while the other one is based on Thalassemia.

WAI is also dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through initiatives such as Windermere Theatre Grant, Theatre for Kids, and Theatre for Children with Special Needs. It also cooperates in the Trust’s initiatives such as providing free blood transfusion and free medicines to more than 150 thalassemia patients.
